SUNRISE HOUSE
MONTANA STATE EXTENSION HOUSING
UNDERGRADUATE - COMMUNITY DESIGN CENTER
12 . 2021
In collaboration with the Montana State University Extension Farms near Kalispell, Montana, this project is designed to provide seasonal and permanent housing to agriculture interns and faculty members within the program. We worked directly with employees at the Extension Farms, meeting bi-weekly to discuss their housing needs and budget requirements. The Sunrise House is an intersection between sustainable construction and low-budget replicability. As the program grows, the faculty were concerned about the ability for the project to grow and provide more housing in the future. With this in mind, the Sunrise House was designed to be a modular, sustainable, site-specific housing solution that emphasizes communal space and energy efficiency.
